DAVID SEGAL, PhD
Senior Director of Cancer Biology

Dr. Segal joined ChemGenex Pharmaceuticals’ laboratory at Deakin University in December 2000 to establish a microarray-based gene discovery program and now heads the Cancer Biology function across the company. After obtaining his PhD at the Australian National University in 1996, Dr. Segal was a Fogarty Post-Doctoral Fellow at the NIH in Bethesda, Maryland, investigating the pathophysiology of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Dr. Segal has extensive experience in large scale genomic analysis of signal transduction pathways associated with cancer, and is currently engaged in elucidating the mechanism of action of omacetaxine.
