ChemGenex To Present At The Bio CEO & Investor Conference 2005

ChemGenex Pharmaceuticals (ASX: CXS) today announced that Greg Collier, Ph.D., chief executive officer of ChemGenex, will be presenting at the BIO CEO & Investor Conference in New York City at 3:00 PM EST on February 23, 2005. The conference brings together CEOs and other senior biotechnology executives, institutional investors and leading biotechnology brokers and analysts to review leading companies and their potential going forward.
Dr. Collier will provide an update on the ChemGenex's phase 2 clinical programs, CeflatoninŽ (HHT) for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia and QuinamedŽ (amonafide dihydrochloride) for the treatment of solid tumors.
Dr Collier will also provide an overview of how the company conducts gene-based drug discovery and development including an update on ChemGenex's collaborations with Merck KGaA in diabetes and Vernalis in depression. Dr Collier will announce that the company has achieved a research milestone with Vernalis that will result in a milestone payment of A$720,000 (US$568,000).
