Cephalon Helps to Launch Framing Life With Lymphoma

Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is the seventh most common cancer in the United States. Yet most people who are diagnosed have little information on this disease and how it will affect their lives.

To help, Cephalon is partnering with the Cancer Support Community (CSC) to launch Framing Life With Lymphoma, a new program aimed at improving conversations between healthcare professionals and their patients, from diagnosis through treatment.

Led by the CSC, the Framing Life With Lymphoma program provides patients with easy-to-use tip sheets that outline ways to approach conversations with healthcare professionals. The tips emphasize the importance of being an informed patient by seeking information and clarification from trusted sources, including healthcare professionals.

Much of the information in the campaign came from a national survey of hematologists, oncologists, and patients supported by Cephalon and conducted in June 2010. In the survey, most physicians and lymphoma patients agreed that they need assistance during their discussions. This new program, launching during Blood Cancer Awareness Month, aims to provide such assistance.
